The school day
The DfE recommends that secondary school students aged 12 to 16 should be taught for 24 hours per week.
At ÐÂ²Ê students have 25 lessons per week of one hour each as well as Mentor times. At 8.20 am a bell rings to warn students that they should be present on site and in readiness for period 1 at 8.25 am. A student who arrives in class after the second bell at 8.25 am is marked late and will receive a one hour detention. Students should not arrive on site too early since staff supervision duties do not begin until 8.05 am.
